Tonight, after more than three months, the Forum debuts on Project Gforum. However, this is merely an open beta (as it says in the navigation) as I have not customized the forum enough to fit in with the rest of Project Gforum. The finalized version of the forum will debut with Version 2.0, but for now all the functionality of the forum is there for you. Just remember to read the rules, and everything should be fine. The private beta of the forum is going well at this point, to my surprise. Since it's based on vBulletin, and not custom-coded by me, creating a new design for it may take a while. However, this also means it has a huge list of features and enhancements over something that I could do at this point, so it all works out in my opinion. Now, I am trying to work on Version 2 right now, so updates until then may not be very frequent. However, I will try to update both this spot and the Poll weekly to keep you guys in the loop. The three big things I'm working on right now (forum design, version 2, and that secret thing from a few weeks ago) each require a large amount of work on their own, so please be patient as I do so. Thank you.
Well, after nearly two months of promising when the initial release of the forum would be, I'm finally prepared to offer a new, vBulletin-based one. Since it is still in beta, I will not be offering a link to it here or in the navigation below; a lot has to change before I release it as "final". However, if you scour the chat box on the right, I'm sure you'll find the link.
I chose vBulletin because it's secure, quick, and offers a few features I was looking to offer with the original forum (QuickEdit, among others.) It requires a new registration (your password will be encrypted, so I can't see it), but this new account will be usable on Project Gforum 2.0. If you don't make a forum account, your current account will be rolled over to the new version, but I'd much prefer if you'd make a new one.
On the miscellaneous side of things, vBulletin is actually
valid, a very nice bonus. In addition, I've added all the old
and new Fusetalk emoticons, as well as the current Jive ones. If you can find the link, I welcome you to the forums (all threads/posts/profiles will still be there when I finalize it), just be prepared for a loss of features as well as a general unattractiveness. Mata Ashita!
